Gov. Ishaku Orders Removal of Illegal Bumps on Major Roads


Taraba State Governor, Arch Darius Dickson Ishaku has ordered the immediate removal of all illegal speed breakers and bumps built on major roads across the state.

 

The Governor who was speaking during the inauguration of a Permanent Office for the Federal Road Safety Corp in Jalingo said his administration has made conscious efforts to improve critical road infrastructures to that regard.

 

He enumerated his achievements on road Construction to include Jalingo Kona Lau road, Magami access road, Palace way, Mararaba-Baissa-Abong, Wukari-Tsokundi, Mararaba-Pantisawa as well as the ongoing eighteen Kilometers dual carriageway project with a flyover at roadblock and six pedestrian bridges.

 

Governor Darius Ishaku encouraged the FRSC to collaborate with local and international organizations in getting support for road safety both in terms of logistics and capacity building of personnel.

 

The Governor emphasized the need for the FRSC to strive as lead agency to mobilize other stakeholders in road transport industry to key into road safety programmes in order to collectively fight the scourge of road mishap in the country.

 

He warned the public that the usage of motorbikes is still prohibited within the city limits of Jalingo regretting the insurgence of motorcyclists on key highways in violation of the restriction and charged the FRSC, Police, and other law enforcement authorities to ensure full implementation of the ban and apprehend violators.

 

Governor Darius Ishaku challenge the Sector Command to be actively involved in reducing over speeding both within the city and on major routes. 

 

The Governor also warned about the unauthorized building of speed bumps across towns and on freeways stating that illegal bumps have not only caused unnecessary accidents but have also resulted in the loss of lives and damage to people's vehicles. 

 

Commenting,Corp Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corp Boboye Oyeyemi thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for providing land for the construction of permanent office for the Federal Road Safety Corp in Jalingo.

 

The Corp Marshall appreciated the giants strides of Governor Darius Ishaku that has open the State mostly with the daily flight been run at the Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo.

 

He assured the State Government of optimal maintenance of the office.

 

On his Part,Chairman of the Federal Road Safety Corp Muktar Bello stated that President Mohammadu Buhari is poised at providing a conducive atmosphere for his personnel for effective service delivery.

 

Murktar ,applauded the collaboration between the State Government and FRSC and charged them to reciprocate the gesture of the Governor.

 

In her remarks, Sector Commander of the FRSC Celina Williams thanked Governor Darius Ishaku and Corp Marshall of the FRSC for their effort in ensuring that the FRSC Taraba State Sector Command has a befitting permanent office.
