DPR Shuts 20 Petrol Stations in Taraba


The Department of Petroleum Resources DPR, Taraba state field Officer has shut down twenty petroleum retailer outlets in the state for violation of various laws governing the petroleum downstream sector.

 

 The Controller, Field Operation Officer of the DPR, Bature Abdullahi disclosure this in an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo. 

 

Bature, who is now the new controller Jalingo Field Operation Officer said that feat was achieved during his compliance surveillance operation to all parts of the state.

 

The Controller said some of the violations as dispensing of products above official pump price, diversion of product consign to the operators as well as poor market environment among others.

 

He sought for collaboration between the Taraba State government, traditional councils, security agencies and the Media whom he described as critical stakeholders in ensuring that the people of the state were not shortchanged.

 

Bature Abdullahi warned marketers who were found of diverting of products to other countries to desist from the acts or face the wrath of the law.

 

He further said that he had started enjoying serious collaboration with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) and other petroleum operators in the area of compliance with the rules of the business.

 

Bature assured the people of the state of ensuring availability of petroleum products at all times in the state.
