Why Next Taraba APC Chairman Should Come From Southern Taraba - Aspirant, Prince Banire Abdullahi
An aspirant for the seat of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Taraba State, Prince Banire Abdullahi, has advanced reasons why the opposition party must zone its chairmanship slot to the southern part of the state.
He explained that the single gesture would ensure that the party takes into consideration all members of APC across the state irrespective of ethnic and religious differences.
According to him, it is necessary to allow those party loyalists from the Southern zone of the state to also head the party for the first time giving reference to the fact that a southerner has not been given the sense of belonging in the state number one opposition party.
He said: "some of us did not cross carpet to any ruling opposite party ever since we started; we remained in our party despite all pressures believing in the opposition until we formed a government at the federal level.
"Taraba state has been an exceptional state that failed to install an APC governor, it has been PDP for long years and I think the power or leadership of the party should change hand for progress and fairness.
"There is a need for us to keep all sentiments aside and come together as one indivisible progressive to ensure the success of our party in the next General elections".
He further added that the party needs total overhauling ranging from the office location, the executives down the wards levels.
He said that the APC harbors the most responsible politicians in the state but failed to produce a governor due to sentiments and unwarranted interests that only benefit individuals.
He said that the southern part of the state accommodates the highest votes but always denied APC leading votes due to so many reasons.
