•calls for Calm
The Ichen Cultural and Development Association (ICADA) has rejected branding of the newly constructed Donga city gate with 'Chamba colors and emblems' saying its depicting Donga as a predominantly Chamba town.
ICADA National President Dr. Samuel Ahmed Bibinu said the gate which was erected by a youth leader Murtala Gamji does not have the approval of neither the state nor local government authorities.
While calling on youths of Ichen nation and sundries to remain calm and peaceful, Bibinu in a press statement said the erection of the concrete gate across Donga road has serious security implications to Donga local government area, Taraba state.
The Statement reads in part: We the peace loving Ichen people of Taraba State under the auspices of the Ichen Cultural And Development Association (ICADA) desire to put the following facts in the right perspective in other to achieve sustainable peace in Donga LGA of Taraba State while we do these, we are calling on all the :
"We are credibly aware of the erection of a concrete gate across a Federal Government constructed road leading into Donga Town. That the said gate has been branded in Chamba colors and emblems depicting Donga as a predominantly Chamba town.
In the light of the above, there has been a growing tension and dissatisfaction on the part of other tribes indigenous to Donga Township. As a responsible organization, We have deemed it necessary to investigate into the issues at stake with the intention of proffering lasting solutions.
It is in line with this genuine intention that ICADA is calling on all it members within and outside Donga LGA to exercise self restraint as this investigation and other interventions are going on.
We appreciate the sacrifices of all tribes religious groups, political and traditional leaders making Donga LGA a stable and peace loving environment. All hands must be on deck to prevent actions and utterances that are capable of causing mass destructions of our limited resource.
There is definately a great deal to know about this subject. I like all of the points you've made. cool companies names
