New Headers Need Permission to Stay in Ussa- LG Boss


 

The Chairman of Ussa Local Government Council Rimamskwe Hassan Karma says only the residents herders are allowed to stay in the area, noting that new headers must get permission from the council before settling in the area.

 

Karma said any new herders coming to stay in the area must be done with his council permission else will be treated as a criminal.

 

Speaking at the  bedrock of some residents of Ussa alarming over their influx of herders in the area which he said most of them were on transit, Karma explained that Takum, Ussa and Yangtu were working as a team for the peaceful coexistence of the areas and.

 

He noted that they have been having series of meetings with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association MACBAN and gave condition for any person that is coming to stay in the area.

 

The Chairman encouraged the people of Ussa to be calm and go on their normal business venture adding that the herders seen around the vicinity were coming from Benue state using the area as a passage route.

 

The Chairman appealed to Governor Darius Ishaku led administration to assist the farmers in the area with cassava stems for them to have bumper harvest which will reduce hardship and scarcity of the cassava face by the people.

 

He said cassava which has been the most cheapest thing around the area, "but now is a matter of serious concern which is due to hike in price which was caused  by the armed herders not allowing people to go to farm."
