Six Months after ENDSARS Looting, Govt. Yet to Renovate Destroyed Offices, buildings

Six months after the looting and destruction of Government owned properties in Jalingo and Wukari Taraba State by rampaging youths in the aftermath of the End SARS Protest, the State government is yet to renovate work space destroyed by the protesters.
Taraba Truth and Fact newspaper gathered that, since the looting, many of the government ministries and agencies touched by the youths are yet to commenced full scale activities in the state due to lack of working equipment and lack of stationaries.
Some of the properties affected by the destruction office complex of Hope Afresh Foundation, a pet project of the governor wife which houses equipment for skill acquisition programme, NYSC orientation camp, DDI Gardens, a new housing estate being constructed by the Ishaku administration, Taraba State Broadcasting Station, the Ministry of Agriculture warehouse, among others.
Recently appointed Commissioner of Co-operatives and Poverty Alleviation in Taraba State, Mr. Jethro Yakubu, assumed his role under a tree after the looting that destroyed the ministry.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Jibrin NaWukari, who handed over to the new Commissioner, said the staff of the ministry have been working under the tree for nearly six months and nothing is been said or done as to when the office will be fixed.
He lamented that it is sad for a ministry that is saddled with the responsibility of alleviating poverty to be operating in a deplorable environment.
The offices of the Taraba Environmental Protection Agency, the Radio Broadcasting Services and State Tourism Development Board are among those affected.
Six months after the incident, the state government has not renovated the offices. This situation has forced staff in these affected offices to operate under the trees.
This affected offices, are calling on the Government to try and fix these affected ministries for normalcy to return and working activities to be fully carried out.
Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku has called for assistance from the Federal Government and other humanitarian agencies to rebuild and replace items either destroyed or stolen by those who took advantage of the #EndSARS protest to loot.
The Governor explained that the state has little resources and needs help to rebuild.
