Breaking: Striking Taraba Varsity Lecturers Set to Call Off Strike, Get 35M Payments



Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper exclusively gathered that striking lecturers at the Taraba State University have agreed to return to classrooms.

The lecturers under the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Thursday, after it's Congress, agreed to return to classrooms after the school management has agreed to commence payment of it's Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) with a kick-off 35Million which is to be disbursed immediately, among others.

Some very senior lecturers confirmed that the 35m Earned Allowance was paid on Thursday afternoon.
A memorandum of Action is expected to be signed by Union executives, the University Management and the State Government on the Implementation of the fresh agreements.

"Lectures is expected to resume on Monday, as Process of signing the new Memorandum will be completed tomorrow (Friday)" a Senior member of the union told this newspaper.
