Illegal Appointment: 9 District Heads to go in Sardauna LG

No political undertone, appointments didn't follow due process- Govt.

Nine District Heads and dozens of Village Heads in Sardauna Local Government area of Taraba appointed without following due process have been dissolved by the state government, Taraba Truth and Fact gathered.

A circular from the State Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs exclusively obtained by our correspondent in Jalingo convene the displeasure of the State Government to all traditional rulers and chiefs in the State over illegal appointments of district and village heads without following government laid down procedures.

The circular also admonished  all traditional rulers in the state to ensure they maintain peace in their domain, waring that some traditional rulers were also harboring criminal elements in their domain, urging them to alert the government of any suspicious move that can threaten the peace of the state in their domain.

A senior government official told Taraba Truth and Facts that no Traditional Chief has been sacked in the state but all those appointed by Third class Chiefs without following due process will be dissolves

Taraba Truth and Facts exclusively gathered that nine District Head  in Sardauna area including   Mbamnga- Alh. Sale Abubakar Dula;  Bang- Johnson Mbomu JP; Titong- Alh. Buba Dogo; Gashiri-Alh. Babaji Jugulde; Vakude- Musa Elijah JP; Kara- Alh. Mahmudu Kara

Ngubin-Alh. Hammanjoda Samari;  Nguroje- Alh. Maulud Hammanjoda;  Mayo Ndaga-Alh. Aliyu Mohammed were dissolved by the circular.

Also, to be dissolved with immediate effect are all village heads appointed by the embattled District Heads, another source told Taraba Truth and Fact newspaper.

The Caretaker Chairman Sardauna Local Government Council Pharm. Oliver Wubon told Taraba Truth and Facts newspaper that the directive is devoid of any political undertone.

He also denied allegations that traditional rulers in his council were gathered to swore an oath to support the PDP and his administration.

"Some Chiefs when they were appointed in 2018 then I was not the Chairman of the Council, they were appointed in July 23rd  and on the Frist of August they were given circulars from the same Bureau that appointed them that they should not appoint Districts Heads and Village Chiefs without proper clearance from the State government, some of them went ahead and appointed these heads, that is a violation of the State Chieftaincy and Local Government rule, so what is happening now is anyone that violated these circulars will have to reverse it,

"What I did was simply was to convene all the Chiefs in my Council to Gembu, where I read the latest circular re-enforcing the messages of the Circulars of August 2018 and December 2019 to the Traditional rulers asking those who have violates the rule to reverse it. Nothing like the local government chairman is sacking anyone," Wubon said.
