Oliver Wubon Tasks Community Heads to Fight Crime on Mambilla Plateau
The Chairman Sardauna Local Government Pharm. Oliver Wubon has stressed the need for synergy in building and sustaining peace on the Mambilla plateau.
The chairman stated this when he hosted the Wakilis, Ardos and other community leaders on the Mambilla plateau at the Government Lodge Gembu to discuss issues bodering on cattle rustling, farmers- hearders clashes, child trafficking and drugs abuse.
Wubon said the community leaders have key roles to play in making sure that crime in the society is reduced to the bearest minimum. This he said can be achieved by providing useful information to relevant security agencies, cautioning the youths against drug abuse and proper sensitization of the masses on the dangers and implications of cattle rustling and theft.
The chairman also used the medium to encourage the community leaders to promote personal hygiene through hand washing and to sensitize their subjects on the need to avoid ways of contacting Lasa fever and other diseases.
Several speakers at the meeting extolled the virtues of Hon Pharm. Oliver Wubon and described him as the right man who has come at the right time to build and take the Local Government to a greater height. They however, commended the effort of the chairman to unite and restructure the Local Government to its proper position. They therefore, pledged their total support to the achievement of this dream.
Pharm. Oliver Wubon has been meeting with different ethnic groups on the Mambilla plateau to discuss on how to unite the people and sustain peace in the Local Government. This according to him is inline with the rescue agenda of Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku.
The meeting was also attended by security personnels.
