HAJIYA UMMA KALSUM TUKUR BURATAI EMPOWERS HUNDREDS, RENOVATES SCHOOL IN MUTUM BIYU
The National President of Nigerian Army Officer's Wives Association NAOWA Mrs Umma Kalsum Tukur Buratai has empowered hundreds of residents of Mutum Biyu, Gassol local government Taraba state.
The wife of the Chief of Army Staff also renovated a five block of classroom and an examination hall in the commercial town.Also rural women across the local government were trained on various skills and given a starter package to enable them self employed.
Mrs Buratai had said NAOWA under her leadership have trained more than 5, 000 women and youth in tailoring, Catering, Bag and shoe making, beads making, paint making, vulcanizing and catering services. She also stated that women and youth empowerment transforms the society faster.
Residence of the community who expressed appreciation said the programme has exposed the women to entrepreneurial ventures, while promising to utilize the equipment to perfect the training acquired .
Starter packages such as sewing machines, oven, popcorn making machines, beads making implements and soap making chemicals were presented to the beneficiaries. The event also featured a display of items produced during the training session.
