Taraba gets nod to source N250m for SDGs’ projects



Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has sought and got the nod of the Taraba House of Assembly for a N250 million loan from a new generation bank to finance projects relating to the 2018 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the state.

In a letter read yesterday on the floor of the chamber during plenary by the speaker, Abel Peter Diah, the governor noted that the facility to offset the government’s 50 per cent counterpart fund as agreed at the second State Executive Council (SEC) meeting in Jalingo.

According to the correspondence, “the tenor of this loan is 12 months with equal and consecutive monthly repayment of N23,158,626.47 covering principal and interest to be debited from Taraba State’s monthly statutory allocation (FAAC) account domiciled with Zenith Bank Plc.”Consequently, the lawmakers gave their express approval.
