Why MB Mustapha should replace Mala Buni as APC National Secretary’

The State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has given reasons why Barr. Muhammed Bello Mustapha should replace Mai Mala Buni as the national secretary of APC.

Mala Buni had resigned to contest for governor of Yobe State which he won, leaving the office which was already zoned to the North East vacant.

Taraba State APC while presenting Barr. MB Mustapha as consensus candidate for the office of the national secretary of the party said Mustapha is qualified and will contribute greatly to the growth of progressive political ideologies the APC is known for.
They also vouched for Mustapha’s leadership ability to mend fences and reconcile aggrieved members and entrench bond of brotherhood, love, understanding and unity among party faithful if elected.

Mustapha was the last aspirant to step down for Mala Buni during  the party’s National convention in 2018 after an agreement by leaders of the party from the Northeast that he will replace him if he eventually emerge as Yobe State governor.
Some party chieftains APC in Taraba also appealed to the national leadership of the party to strongly consider MB Mustapha candidature, insisting that the state has been marginalized in the affairs of the party with no national officer  from Taraba state in the history of APC.
They urged national leader of the party to rally round Mustapha in the spirit of fairness.
“Taraba APC garnered 45 per cent votes for President Muhammadu Buhari in the last elections, our people have embrace APC and what its known for, their expectation is to have one of them at the national working committee of the party, also MB Mustapha is the first runner up during the 2018 national convention being the last man to step aside for Mala Buni, so it just fair and just to concede the vacant position to him.”
Addressing a press conference at his flag off campaign for the post, Mustapha promised to create an atmosphere where everyone will put in his/her best for the interest of the party.
He said party discipline would be enriched under his watch as he is ready to work with national chairman of the party in making the party more acceptable, better, virile and stronger to face the nation’s daunting challenges and ensure that justice, equity and fairness become order of the day.

He commends national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari for laying good foundation for the party, and promised to carry along the founding fathers of APC if he is entrusted with the office.
